The BasicSwapDEX team is excited to launch this bounty to fund the development and integration of a full-featured atomic swap capability within the upcoming Litecoin Nexus mobile wallet. Our vision is to provide Litecoin users with the seamless experience of services like ChangeNow or Changelly, but with the crucial advantages of decentralization, privacy, and non-custodial control, all powered by BasicSwapDEX's robust atomic swap technology.

While BasicSwapDEX already facilitates LTC atomic swaps on desktop, adapting this for a mobile-first experience necessitates a comprehensive redesign of several key components.

It enables us to assign a dedicated team of three developers to this project, with a target delivery timeframe of 6 months. We believe this integration will be a groundbreaking development, establishing Litecoin as a pioneer in mobile-native, decentralized trading and significantly enhancing its utility.

Phased Development for Optimal Delivery

To ensure efficient development and timely delivery of core functionalities, we have structured our approach into two distinct phases:

Phase 1: HTLC Atomic Swaps

• Goal: Rapid deployment of proven atomic swap technology.
• Details: Initial integration will focus on Hash Time Lock Contract (HTLC) atomic swaps. This will allow the Litecoin Nexus mobile wallet to gain robust atomic swap capabilities quickly, enabling swaps with scriptable cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

Phase 2: Adaptor Signature Atomic Swaps

• Goal: Advanced capabilities, enhanced privacy, and wider coin support.
• Details: This phase will introduce adaptor signature atomic swaps. This more sophisticated technology is crucial for:

The integration module for the Litecoin Nexus mobile wallet, funded by this bounty, will encompass the following features:

1. HTLC Atomic Swaps (Phase 1): Enabling faster deployment of atomic swap capabilities for Litecoin with other scriptable cryptocurrencies.
2. Adaptor Signature Atomic Swaps (Phase 2): Introducing advanced atomic swaps for Litecoin (including MWEB) with non-programmable cryptocurrencies like Monero, offering enhanced privacy.
3. Dedicated Swap Page or Tab: A user-friendly section within the mobile app for initiating swaps to and from Litecoin with assets like Bitcoin, Monero, and others.
4. Automated Swap Process: Once initiated, swaps will be fully automated via the privacy-preserving SMSG P2P messaging network (mixnet), requiring no further user input.
5. Automated Order Discovery: A "market buy/sell" feature, similar to quick swap exchanges, that automatically selects the best available offers from BasicSwapDEX's distributed order book.
6. Fully On-Chain Process: The entire swap process occurs on-chain. Users will receive all necessary information (transaction IDs, hashes) to verify swap progress on blockchain explorers.
7. Non-Custodial Model: Users will always retain full control of their private keys and funds. The integration is strictly non-custodial.
8. Transaction History: All swaps are saved with a unique hash in the user's local history for their records.
9. No Account Requirement: No accounts or registration needed. The BasicSwapDEX integration operates on-chain, utilizing the Litecoin light node provided by the mobile wallet.
10. Market Making Opportunities: While wallet-initiated swaps are taker orders, users can become market makers by placing offers on BasicSwap's order book using the BasicSwapDEX desktop application in conjunction with available market-making scripts. (Desktop application and scripts are separate from this mobile wallet integration bounty but complementary to the ecosystem).
11. Post-delivery Updates and Support: The BasicSwap team will provide ongoing support, including security updates, functionality enhancements (e.g., further MWEB atomic swap improvements), bug fixes, and user assistance as needed.

Funding, Timeline, and Accountability

• Funding Goal & Timeline: The total funding target for this initiative is $72,000. This budget is structured to cover all development and operational costs over a 6-month timeframe, with a monthly requirement of $12,000 to maintain a dedicated team of three developers.
• Funding Flexibility: Should there be funding shortfalls in any given month, we can adjust by scaling down to two developers. Our third developer, possessing deep knowledge of the codebase, can contribute flexibly as funding allows without disrupting the core team's momentum. This may extend the delivery timeline, but our commitment to full delivery remains unwavering.
• Timeline Accountability: If development extends beyond the initial 6 months due to unforeseen technical challenges (not related to funding shortfalls), we will not request additional funds beyond the original target. However, if delays are a direct result of reduced staffing due to funding gaps, we propose the possibility of a 7th funding round to cover only the difference between the total funding target and the amount collected by the end of the 6th month.

Bounty Management & Transparency

• Management: This bounty will be managed by the BasicSwapDEX team. Cryptoguard will oversee internal team payments. Funders will interact with a single entity for disbursements, typically structured monthly.
• Payment Structure: While monthly disbursements align well with our operational model, we are open to discussing milestone-based payments if preferred by funders, though this may not align as seamlessly with the interconnected nature of the development work.
• Flexibility in Approach: This is an innovative project. We anticipate potential challenges that may require creative solutions not initially envisioned. We prioritize transparency with funders and the community and prefer to maintain some flexibility rather than making rigid technical commitments that might need adjustments. Regular updates on progress will be provided to the community.
